Rombauer – 2007 Chardonnay - Carneros

I recently had the opportunity to have a 375ml of the Rombauer Chardonnay at Finn & Porter in Alexandria, VA.  I was not disappointed.  First, having a 375ml makes it a very viable selection for dinner when you are dining alone.  I appreciate wineries that are selling their product to all types of customers.

This chardonnay did come off as buttery and had a fruit smell that was crisp and clean.  The Rombauer is something that you would expect from a very smooth well constructed chardonnay.  It almost had a tropical taste and was excellent with my sushi.  I can imagine having this wine while at a beach and sipping it while the waves come in on a hot night. 

The was $40 for a 375ml so retail it should be much better and I would definitely put this as a higher end white wine that is a good safe pick if you are looking for a chardonnay one night to have with a good meal.

Remember that life is too short for bad wine or bad friends.
