4 bears – 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon -Napa

I had the pleasure of tasting this wine for the first time this past week while on “vacation” with my family.  It would seem that the essence of family was a good time to try the wine based on what the Minor family is striving for. 

The wine is very tasty with hints of berries.  The dark wine did not have too many tannins or too bold a taste.  It was smooth and delicious.  It is a full bodied wine that was well worth the price.  I would have taken this for a $40 bottle of cab and I think we paid $24 in Montana.  The wine drank well throughout the bottle and was light enough to have with Thai food while drinking well with desert.  The label also screams quality with the embossed 4B and clean crisp label.

In addition to being good wine, the website really does give some great information on wines (other wineries take note) and the family seems to be rooted in the pursuit of all things family which is an enviable place to be. 

The “vacation” with family may not have been as easy as a vacation in Cabo but the wine made the trip that much better and in the end it is good to spend time with family.

Remember that life is too short for bad wine or bad friends.
