B.R. Cohn – Silver Label Cabernet Sauvignon ‘06 (North Coast)

The winery says: The 2006 Silver Label Cabernet Sauvignon reflects a blending of grapes grown from the B.R. Cohn Olive Hill Estate Vineyard and select North Coast vineyards. This combination offers full, rich flavors of berry, cassis and black cherry with hints of vanilla in the background.

Aging with French oak adds complexity and depth, resulting in a high quality Cabernet Sauvignon with great value.

I have to be honest that I do not really remember this wine due to the time that has past since I drank it but I do remember seeing the B.R. Cohn label in a friend of mine’s cellar.  This friend, whom shall remain nameless is an astute collector of wine and I trust his basic wine instincts.  If he has it in his cellar, it is worth having it in yours.  I will do a retry some time soon and let you know the details but from the awards others seem to think it is pretty special too.

I am not a fan of the website because it focuses on so much more than the wines.  They have olive oils, charities, etc. and all of these are good things but I like a wine site that shows me the wine easy and clear.  Not a reason not to drink it though.

Remember that life is too short for bad wine or bad friends.
